<span id="ctrlDescription_ctrlDescription_l">I seek a $5,000 loan to print and market the graphic novel, Beowulf the
Legend. We will print 2,000 to 2,500 copies that will retail for
$9.99. Sales will be through a small independent distributor to
specialty comic book shops, through Ingram or Baker & Taylor to
bookstores, and direct to consumers at comic book conventions.
Our intent is to debut the book at Comic Con International in San
Diego, July 19th.
We expect solid sales for this book as the artist, Andy Lee, is very
popular among the comic book community. Also, the subject matter
(Beowulf) is popular. We expect to make 40% of cover price for
units sold through distributors and 100% of cover price (minus
marketing costs) for those sold directly to fans at conventions.
