We are an established company with a current customer base.My husband
who is blind started California Canes in 1994. We sell approximately
3500-5000 long canes for the blind per year. We have developed a new
style cane which we strongly believe will substantially increase our
over all sales. We have had numerous requests for this cane for a
period of 5 or more years now. Our plan is to start a run with our manufacturer of 300 units of the new design to see how well they sell. We believe because these canes will sell fairly quickly we will be able to use the proceeds to pay off this loan sooner and also order more canes for production. About $2000 would be used to pay for the initial order and the remainder would cover the shipping and customs charges as well. We currently have purchase orders to fill from various agencies and low vision stores for the blind and visually impaired here in the USA as well as Canada and England. We currently are working with a gentleman from Spain who is very interested in distributing our canes throughout Spain and Portugal with a long term goal of going into Brazil as well. There are millions of blind and visually impaired people in the United States and millions more around the world. There will always be a a market for mobility products for this population until such a time that blindness can be cured. This business was started "By the Blind for the Blind" and we continue to make this part of our mission statement. We are hoping that the Prosper Lenders can see the validity of our request and allow us to move forward with a project we are very excited about. Thank you! |
