I am 24 years old and in the Navy. I have found that I am at the age where a majority of the people that I know are either trying to consolidate debts, pay back student loans, or start some sort of business. I decided before I recommend this site to any of them I wanted to know how the borrowing proccess worked. I have no problems making payments (as you can see below) and decided that after I recieve the loan I will re-invest it back into prosper so that neither you or I are out any money. With the pay grade I am I make about 1,779 a month before taxes. I am currently have $500 going towards bonds and mutual funds (this is all since I'm out to sea). When I am back in port (towards the end of summer) I plan on purchasing a car from my parents for $4000 (I currently have $2,300 already saved up) and a cell phone. I estimate this will be another $250 making my total debits $750. (I live on the ship so utilities, meals, and everything else are taken care of) Past what I have saved up for my car I have another $7,000 in the mutal funds, bonds, and other personal accounts. As for my credit report, I have gotten rid of all my credit cards (since I had maxed one out to $5,000 prior to joining the military and have since paid it off). I have always paid my bills first and have (what I believe) is a rather good credit score for someone my age. I know that I could just lend money to my friends directly but I want them to build their credit back up as well as get out of debt and figured that this site would be their best choice. |
