My wife and I are going to
be starting to try to start our family. We've been married for four
years now and would like to start this new chapter in our lives. We
both work full time. I'm a computer programmer and she works at an
online travel distribution company. We both also do freelance work in
more creative fields. I'm a photographer and she's a voice actor.
Majority of the money from this loan will be actually going towards our
high interest business credit card that we used to get the equipment we
needed to start. We've been doing well so far. The remainder will be
going towards the credit card that has the highest balance/highest
interest ratio to help bring it down. We actually aren't doing
horrible as far as credit card debt goes, but we'd like to get it taken
care of in our more efficient and cost effective manner.
We've never been late for a payment, we always pay more than minimum on our cards, and are very responsible people. We are not looking for a loan to get a new start for us to have more $$ to play with. We're looking to do this to start off on the right foot financially when my wife becomes pregnant. (Hopefully, someday soon!) My wife's income is obviously not included in this which makes the DTI ratio a little higher. We both have been out of college for 2 years now and have been working full time since graduating. Our credit card debt comes from our college days and then moving out to California from the Midwest for work. Monthly budget: Income: $4816.62 (my wife and my net incomes. This is after taxes and after our 401k contributions are removed.) Freelance income - depends on the amount of projects. Budget: $1750 rent for our house (because who can own in Los Angeles?! hah!) $250 for utilities $130 for our family plan cell phones, our land line, and DSL $193 for our school loans (consolidated prior to graduating) $263 for our car loan andour car insurance (we carpool) $60 for gas $200 for groceries $50 for renters insurance $40 for the one school loan that's separate $50 to savings account $250 for misc spending ------ That leaves us with $1157.62. This will be divided between the credit card balances that we don't pay off with the loan and the Prosper loan payments. |
