Hello. I am a 54 year old Food and Beverage Director for a large hotel. I have been working at the same job for 29 years and probably will retire there. I work for a fairly wealthy gentleman who treats the hotel like his hobby and takes very good care of all his employees. About a year ago I broke my shoulder playing raquetball and had to have two surgeries to fix it. With my 80-20 insurance coverage, my part came to about $9000. I have paid off all but $2500 and would really like to get it taken care of. I really don't want to go the credit card route if I don't have to. My debt ratio looks high because I do outside catering and other services that don't show up as real income. Obviously, no one can live with a 50% debt ratio. I also have a company car with all expenses paid. Since my accident, I missed several months of work and had to use credit cards to live on partially. I plan on having most debt paid off by 2009. I have been paying $100 a month on this hospital bill, so I don't believe it will affect my finances in any way. I just want to get it paid off. I hate owing a local hospital where people might know me. I thought maybe this would be a good venue for getting this debt taken care of. Any help would be appreciated. I have absoulutely no late payments of any kind anywhere and also a good credit rating. It was better until this accident, but I'm sure it will get back there. Thank You.
