Greetings...I am 40 years old, married, no kids. I have been an IT consultant since the early 1990s, and my current income is around $100K per year. My credit history is actually really good overall, with only a few lates here and there. We are current on all accounts now, though, and have been for quite a while. Utilization is killing my scores, though. My wife and I have three Capital One cards, with total balances of about $6500. I figured it was better for me to pay them off and lower my utilization, which will boost my credit scores. I'd rather have one loan payment every month than three credit card payments. When the three CapOne cards are at zero balance, we will have more leverage with CapOne, including the ability to close the accounts and be done with them forever. In addition, I would gain yet another positive tradeline on my credit reports with the Prosper loan. I will pay on time, every time! |
