Well, my last post fell about $3K short of the $12.5K I had
requested. That gave me the incentive to try again! I have again lowered my request, in order to hit the 20% DTI - success. If
you remember, I got buried into credit card debt because of my being
part-owner of a restaurant. We had to file Chapter 7 bankruptcy
because after 9/11/01, the business that was already having a hard
time, fell flat and had to close. It was just my co-owner and
I, working 13-hours a day, 7-days a week. Never could afford
employees and I was even having to be the delivery driver.
Cried every single day as I had given up a 14-year job with a salary
in the $40's, for no pay at all. I had to personally guarantee
the credit cards, associated with the business, because I was
President of the corporation; thus the filing for personal
bankruptcy. Please know, that before that time, during that time, and after, I have NEVER EVER lapsed on my "real" personal bills. My house has continued to be paid, my car and any left over credit cards I have. I just have never been able to recover because when you start with nothing, you can't pay for things, so you have to charge. The more you charge, the more you have to pay monthly and the less you still have to buy things with. I know I'm not alone in this, I'm just trying to finally make the start over. By securing this loan through Prosper, I will pay off my credit cards and never use them again. Please note when looking at my credit details, that the one item showing delinquent, was left from my bankruptcy; note the amount due is $0.00. Also, the public judgement was the person we were buying the business from. He took me to court to sue for additional interest. We had already paid exactly what our contract stated, but through a crooked lawyer and a judge in cahootz, he won. I have since paid off this judgement - had too when I refinanced my house. Boy, I didn't realize it was accruing interest! Thank goodness I paid it off when I did or he'd own my house one day. I'm a good person who works hard. Been with my boss and company over three years now. Making a salary in the $70's and still treading water. It's sickening! When I went into the business, I said why not do it for myself instead of for the company. I'll tell you, I'll do it for the company from now on ANY DAY! Call it a learning experience, but I just want to be normal again and not in debt!! I'll have money left from my pay after paying the mortgage and other house associated bills, to amply cover this Prosper payment. How wonderful to be able to pay $400 instead of $1K! Thank you for your consideration and for helping me!!! |
