I met islandmele at the local starbucks and have been trying to get a date with her ever since. That was years ago. I figure if I bid on her loan, I might get a better shot and she may actually feel compelled to at least consider it. My current ROI on my Prosper investments is 15% so this bid will reek havoc on my average return, but she's worth it. I'm in at a bid rate of a 1%.

I've met Islandmele through Propser and at Prosper Days. I have a large chunk of change in her group loans because I know she will be a hard-a$$ when it comes she has whipping the Ohana folk into paying their loans. I'm willing to endorse her because if she fails to repay the loan, her own Ohanaoids will go Guido on her to ensure that we get our money. I find the threat of a coconuting to be more powerful inducement for repayment than Experian. I will be bidding an arbitrarily large sum.
